The Gathering of Rogers

We invite our friends to join us August 7, 8 and 9 for classes and events in Rogers!  The shop will host an eclectic mix of classes at Southside Church of Christ, Dixieland and Dogwood, only a short distance from the shop.  There will be plenty of room there and it's all on one level.

We're pleased to have several well-known teachers participating -- Donna Lynn Thomas, Dawn Heese, Jenifer Dick, Candy Hargrove, Becky Cogan and Robbi Triplett, as well as some of our talented local teachers.

Donna is a quiltmaker, author and teacher whose latest book for That Patchwork Place is Quiltmaking Essentials 1.  She will be teaching two of her newest quilt designs and demonstrating her On-Point Ruler by Omnigrid.

Dawn Heese is a quiltmaker, author and teacher and is currently working on designs for Fall Quilt Market. Her pattern line is Linen Closet Designs.  One of her classes for The Gathering is "Cider Barn", featured in the current issue of Primitive Quilts and Projects.

Jenifer Dick is a leader in the Modern Quilt movement.  Her newest book is The Modern Applique Workbook and her class project is "Baskets" from that book.

Candy Hargrove is the designer of free-to-use quilts for Jo Morton fabrics by Andover.  She also loves to do hand work, and her class will be showing you how to use Cindy Blackberg's stamps for marking cutting and sewing lines.

Becky Cogan is an accomplished quilter who designs for Need'l Love Company.  Her class for "Tumbling Blocks" shows you how to use a jelly roll for this timeless quilt design.

Robbi Triplett is the owner of Bittersweet Quilts in Joplin, Missouri.  Her passion is working with wool and she will have several classes to help you learn all about wool.  One of them is "Star Flower Penny Rug".

On Thursday evening, August 7, Donna Lynn Thomas will be presenting a trunk show will a variety of quilts, including those in her book On-Point Patchwork.

On Friday evening,  August 8, Dawn Heese will be showing many quilts of her own design, including some from her latest book, Inspired.  Her vintage style will "inspire" many to recreate her designs!

In addition to classes and these trunk shows, the shop will be offering chances to "make and take" projects, and free demonstrations are scheduled at the church location.

Spring is Here -- Finally!

It's official!  Spring is Here, although in some parts of the country you wouldn't know it!
We're celebrating with our annual "Spring Fling Shop Hop" starting Friday!  We love seeing our friends come in, excited to find new projects and ideas!

We're also happy to see the start of Downtown Restaurant Week -- highlighting the fine restaurants in the historic district!
Find the list of participating restaurants at

Spring also brings new things to the shop!  New books, New yarn, New fabric!

We're excited to now carry designs from Riley Blake Fabric -- a fun new line called "Treasure" for the young at heart!   This kit will be quick and easy to put together.

We love the Marcus Brothers Ombre Hand Dyes -- they're perfect for applique AND piecing, and provide beautiful shading, as well as brilliant color in your quilts.  We're now offering fat quarter and half yard collections, as well as yardage!  What does your vision tell you to create with these?

We love creating kits for you!  We especially like helping you create new decor for your home, like this spring-y design "Modern Flowers Skinny Quilt"!

Since we love embroidery, it's only natural that we dip into the cross stitch area!  We're starting with some kits from Mill Hill to make it easy for you --

Keep watching -- we'll bring you more next week!

The next collection by Jo to arrive in the shop will be "Woodlands".  Here is what Jo has to say about it:   "Time for another group of loved medium to dark fabrics, this time with added indigoes and greens.  These shades would be seen on a lovely walk in the park or perhaps on a trail in a forest.  And there is a surprise -- a sweet floral for each colorway."

The free-to-use quilt design by Candy Hargrove alternates pinwheel blocks with log cabins -- you can preorder the fabric kit for this on the website Here.  The pattern may be downloaded from Andover Fabric's website.

Members of our Jo's Little Women Club have access to their own Yahoo Group -- Recently they posted pictures of how they use Jo quilts in their home to decorate.  Here is just a sampling of those posted.

Keep watching for more pictures soon!
